One of the most exciting moments are the early days of being labelled a University student, where one gets to know the reality of a whole new world when it comes to academics. To kick start the 2020 academic year, the Vaal University of Technology will be hosting an orientation week for all registered first year students.
The orientation week will commence on the Monday, 27th and end on Friday, the 31st of January 2020. The main purpose of the orientation program is to familiarize first year students with the activities on campus and other fields of study that are offered at VUT.
A parents’ meeting has been scheduled for Sunday 26th January 2020, as parents are directly involved in contributing to the future of their children, and we wish to officially introduce them to the University, its structures and most importantly the student support services available to their children by VUT as a home away from home.
The orientation will be held as follows:
OFFICIAL WELCOMING – Monday, 27 January 2020
All registered first year students from all faculties will attend a welcoming event at the stadium for all the faculties from 08:30 to 14:30.
FACULTY DAY – Tuesday, 28 January 2020
Firs Years will meet at different stations that would have been communicated to them on the previous day. This is where the students will be introduced to their faculties, HODs and lecturers that will be working with them throughout the year.
FUN DAY – Wednesday, 29 January 2020
First year students will be divided into teams and participate in different sporting codes to encourage them to get to know their fellow students.
We thank everyone who contributed to this well-planned program to welcome our new students to the MaVUTi Family.
