The Centre for Academic Development (CAD) held its information week from 3-5 May at different venues within the Vaal University of Technology Vanderbijlpark campus under the theme: “Help us, Help you!”
The event was aimed at informing students about the services provided by CAD and how students can get assistance from the department in line with its mission and vision.
The vision of CAD is to be a ‘Leading research-informed centre that promotes creative and innovative teaching and learning experiences by developing all students and staff to reach their optimum potential both locally and globally’. Its mission is to creatively enhance academic development and support systems by tackling different aspects within the academic spectrum.
CAD offers different services such as the Writing Lab; Mathematics Centre; Learning Communities; Tutor Development; e-learning and First-Year Experience.
Car dealerships, such as Kia Motors and Hyundai, were at the event to give students an opportunity to test-drive their cars. The event was sponsored by Romans Pizza; Kia; Hyundai; Chesanyama; Cell-C and Vaal Triangle Computer and Books.
