Energy optimisers meet at Kyalami

On Tuesday, 10 October, the Vaal University of Technology Southern Gauteng Science and Technology Park’s Energy Optimisation Unit (EOU) attended the Kyalami Country Club (KCC) Energy Optimisation Project Open Day in Midrand.
The EOU was invited by the KCC Management who are about to embark on renovations and expansions. The meeting was to look at opportunities that are available as well as projects that can be done at the country club from an EOU perspective.
Mr Douglas Pott gave a presentation on the KCC Project and Mr Lovell Emsie presented on the proposed technology platform sub-projects.
As the programme heated up, ideas that were shared for the energy saving opportunities at the KCC. Mr. Knutt Kappenberg presented the German Energy Network case study.
Mr Himstra Makhuvele: Junior Technician at the VUTSGSTP was then given the opportunity to present the idea of having a pilot project at VUT Technology Transfer and Innovation and turning the Science Park building into a living lab, where the EOU can showcase what they can do.
