The F’SASEC, in partnership with the French Ministry of Education, Schneider Electric and VUT, held its last training session of the year from 17-19 October.
The training was offered by the Italian Director for Solar Business Development at Schneider Electric Milano, Mr Gianluca Bertolino. The training presented a Soleolis PV-Wind Turbine System which is a “product designed to demonstrate the renewable energy generation capability of solar panels and/or wind turbines for remote sites”.
The training was held at F’SASEC VUT and attended by four trainees from the VUT Science Park, two VUT and four F’SASEC staff members.
Mr Bertolino, who is a former lecturer, says that the staff members he is training have been nothing but effective, well prepared and independent. To prove that statement, he pointed out that during his breaks, some of the attendees used the Soleolis independently while others spent the time going through what they had learned during sessions.
Mr Bertolina added that he feels he has reached all his objectives.
Mr Vuyani Simelane, a lab assistant at the F’SASEC says he found the training informative and enjoyed Mr Bertolino’s methods of lecturing. He said: “With the trainer giving us a proper view of the Soleolis, it taught us not only theory but it also gave us a practical insight of the machine.”
