Higher NRF-rating for VUT academic
12 April 2024
Prof Kaitano Dube, a Ecotourism Lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Integrated Communication within the Faculty of Human Sciences, has been awarded a higher rating from the National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF) – from Y2 to C2. His recognition is for his outstanding scholarly contributions to the fields of Tourism and Climate Change.
VUT prides itself with being associated with several NRF-rated and world-class academics and researchers who have proven themselves with high standards of research that have shaped or expanded on existing studies in South Africa. Additionally, not only do they produce ground-breaking research that solves real life problems, but also empower aspiring researchers to engage the most experienced minds in several research fields as their aides.
NRF-rated researchers are the bright minds that empower and propel the research within a given institution and a particular industry or field. These individuals aren’t only recognised in South Africa, as the nature and impact of their work contributes to their fields of research internationally too. These ratings are for five years.
Congratulations to Prof Dube and thank you for conducting ‘Research That Matters’ which enhances VUT’s research culture and contributes towards its research objectives.
