I am excited to welcome you to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) at the Vaal University of Technology. By enrolling in an engineering programme, you have taken an important step towards achieving your educational and career goals. Whether your next step after our engineering technology programmes is further education or entering the workplace, your First-Year Programme in your chosen discipline has been carefully designed to enhance your knowledge and skills in ways that will prepare you for both.<\/p>

In your first year of engineering, you will explore and plan your academic and career path, strengthen your learning skills, and develop effective strategies for achieving your goals. To help you become an active member of the faculty community, your facilitators and orientation coordinators will engage you in activities designed to connect you with fellow students, as well as FET academic and support staff.<\/p>

I encourage you to participate in the many enriching learning opportunities that await you during your first year on our beautiful campus. You will be introduced to VUT\u2019s wide range of campus resources, along with the faculty and staff members who are here to guide and support you throughout your journey. The FET offers a great deal to its engineering students, and I hope you will take full advantage of its services and reach out for any assistance you may need.<\/p>
