The Vaal University of Technology (VUT), in partnership with the French South African Schneider Electric Education Centre (F\u2019SASEC), hosted a community outreach programme at the Kitso Community Centre in Sharpeville on 27 June 2025. The initiative offered free training in Domestic Wiring and 3D Design, aimed at equipping participants with skills relevant to the job market and entrepreneurial landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Vuyani Simelani, a Lab Assistant at VUT, welcomed participants and emphasised the importance of the programme. \u201cThe skills you will acquire here can help you secure employment or even start your own business in Domestic Wiring and 3D Design,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3D Design involves the creation of three-dimensional representations of objects or scenes using specialised software. It enables the user to define an object\u2019s shape, size, and texture within a digital environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Godfrey Nwakekah, a Lab Technician at VUT, highlighted how technological advances are transforming the electrical field. \u201cWith 3D Design, electricians can now design and print components such as distribution boards, switches, and pipes, simplifying their work significantly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme will be held every Friday and is open to residents of Sharpeville and surrounding areas. Those interested are encouraged to register at the Kitso Community Centre.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
