We must continue nurturing relationships that empower both our personal and professional growth,” she said.

The event featured motivational talks, meaningful peer engagement, and a compelling address from OPSA CEO, Miss Dawn Williams. She urged administrators to embrace new

technologies, including artificial intelligence, as tools for advancement rather than threats. Williams also stressed the importance of patience, a positive attitude, and the simple power of a smile in maintaining a harmonious work environment.

A key highlight was the announcement of an upcoming competition to recognise the best-performing office professional. The initiative invites colleagues to nominate deserving candidates, creating a culture of peer recognition and appreciation.

Guest speaker Mr Tholo Motaung, Director of Corporate Affairs at OPSA, reiterated the importance of continuous professional development. He encouraged administrators to take full advantage of OPSA’s training programmes, designed to equip professionals with modern, relevant skills.

The event not only celebrated excellence but reinforced a powerful message: administrators are the backbone of any institution. Their dedication, though often behind the scenes, is integral to operational success.

Group membership with OPSA was presented as a cost-effective and impactful way for institutions like VUT to invest in the professional advancement of their administrative staff.

The gathering concluded on an uplifting note, leaving attendees inspired, affirmed, and reminded of their value within the university community. A final call was made for all VUT office professionals to join VUTAF by completing the membership form and submitting it to deborahn@vut.ac.za .

“Never doubt yourself,” was the parting message from OPSA, an enduring reminder that every role matters, and every effort deserves to be seen and celebrated.

“VUT hosts an inspiring event to honour administrators, promote professional growth, and encourage OPSA membership among office professionals.” 14 July […]

[47,1

post-25281","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news-vaal-university-of-technology","category-uncategorized
["GET
