This year’s cohort carries added significance as the 60th generation of VUT graduates, a generation shaped by resilience, ambition, and the enduring legacy of the institution.

Among them stood Ms Nkoka Maluleke, a passionate Information Technology student from Giyani, whose journey of balance and determination quietly captured the spirit of the moment.

Drawn to the ever-evolving world of technology, she pursued her studies with curiosity and intent. Inspired by the pace at which innovation continues to shape society, she saw in Information Technology not only a career path, but an opportunity to contribute to a future defined by digital transformation.

Yet her journey extended beyond the lecture room. As a committed student athlete, she carried the weight of two demanding worlds. Training sessions, academic deadlines, and the constant pressure to perform required more than ability. They demanded discipline, structure, and unwavering focus.

Her approach was simple, yet powerful. “You just have to balance,” she explained. “After practice, I make sure I study every day, and when I have time on weekends, I focus on my books.”

It is in this quiet consistency that her strength is revealed. While the path was not always easy, she chose to remain committed, proving that success is often built in the unseen moments of discipline and sacrifice.

Her message to aspiring students reflects both wisdom and lived experience. She encourages young people to embrace technology early, to remain curious, and to take ownership of their learning. In a world where digital skills continue to define opportunity, her voice speaks directly to a generation preparing to shape the future.

As part of the 60th generation of VUT graduates, her journey becomes more than a personal achievement. It stands as a reflection of a collective story, one of perseverance, growth, and possibility. Each graduate represents not only their own success, but the continuation of a legacy built over six decades.

For many who witnessed her story, it served as a quiet source of inspiration. It reminded them that the challenge of balancing academics and life beyond the classroom is not a barrier, but a test of commitment.

As she walked across the stage, she carried with her more than a qualification. She carried the spirit of a generation that refuses to be defined by limitation, a generation that rises through discipline, purpose, and belief.

In that moment, her journey became a message, that with focus, resilience, and balance, success is not only possible, it is inevitable.

“A Vaal University of Technology (VUT) graduate from the 60th generation shares an inspiring story of balancing academics and sport […]

[47

post-34803","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news-vaal-university-of-technology
["GET
