Beyond coordinating the proceedings, she actively encouraged participants, ensuring that the youth left feeling empowered and valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reverend Father Awele Mbutuma delivered a powerful spiritual message based on James 1:22, urging young people not only to listen but to act on what they learn. He emphasised the importance of applying knowledge in daily life as a foundation for a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Molefi Libaze, a church leader, highlighted the purpose of the outreach, noting that it aimed to provide young people with direction, hope, and practical skills. He acknowledged that many of today\u2019s challenges mirror those faced by previous generations and encouraged learners to use technology, including artificial intelligence, responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Dimakatso Motaung, Student Recruitment Practitioner at VUT, reminded learners that \u201cthe ball is in your hands,\u201d emphasising that success requires clarity of purpose and consistent effort. She also shared valuable insights into VUT programmes and study opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Vincent Mdluli, HIV Assistant Coordinator at VUT, delivered a motivational talk on resilience and emotional strength. He encouraged the youth to remain steadfast in the face of challenges and highlighted forgiveness as an essential tool for healing and personal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Allen Mutono, founder of the IALE Institute, provided insight into Artificial Intelligence (AI), explaining both its benefits and potential risks. He also introduced the Institute\u2019s work in guiding students towards suitable career paths through IPS scoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Lawrence Tahleho Tsolo, a professional barber and respected community member from Sharpeville, shared an inspiring story of perseverance and self-development, demonstrating how dedication can shape success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mental health awareness was addressed by Mrs Fikile Makwe, Senior Community Liaison Officer for Mental Health in the Sedibeng District. She outlined key signs that indicate when individuals may require psychological support and encouraged young people to prioritise their well being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health education was provided by Ms Thuli Kumalo, a Health Promoter, who spoke about contraceptive methods, HIV prevention, and the importance of safe practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Sarah Manyoko from the House of Sarah shared her journey in the fashion industry, reflecting on the challenges she overcame to build a successful career. She encouraged the youth to pursue their dreams with determination, despite obstacles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entertainment by Lala and the crew added energy and vibrancy to the programme, creating a celebratory atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In closing, Mr Ndongene Hokwana delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all speakers, organisers, and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the event. He emphasised the importance of unity, compassion, and a shared commitment to uplifting others. Special recognition was given to Mr Malakia Mafuma, the visionary behind the initiative, whose leadership brought the outreach to life through collaboration with various stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He encouraged young people to make use of available opportunities, reminding them that success remains attainable regardless of matric results, through determination and hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A youth attendee, Ms Mamorena Makhwathi, described the event as life changing, noting that it came at a time when she was actively seeking direction after matric.
