{"id":42629,"date":"2026-09-04T11:00:25","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T11:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vut.ac.za\/?p=42629"},"modified":"2026-09-04T11:00:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T11:00:27","slug":"vut-hr-benefits-roadshow-reaches-591-employees-across-campuses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vut.ac.za\/nso\/vut-hr-benefits-roadshow-reaches-591-employees-across-campuses\/","title":{"rendered":"VUT HR benefits roadshow reaches 591 employees across campuses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;VUT&#8217;s HR Benefits Awareness Roadshow reached 591 employees across four campuses, sharing knowledge on benefits, wellness services and financial support options.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>04 September | Story by: Staff Reporter  | Picture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 minutes read time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure style=\"width: 100%; margin: 0 0 24px; padding: 0; background: #000;\">\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vut.ac.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1727.webp\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto; display: block;\">\n    \n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Vaal University of Technology&#8217;s (VUT) Human Resources Department brought employee benefits and support services directly to staff members through its HR Benefits Awareness Roadshow, reaching 591 employees across four campuses between 24 and 27 August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coordinated by the Remuneration and Benefits Unit, the initiative was designed to improve access to HR services and empower employees with a better understanding of the benefits available to them throughout their employment journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Led by Manager: Remuneration and Benefits, Ms Tshimangadzo Tambani, together with the Remuneration and Benefits Team, the roadshow provided employees with direct access to HR practitioners and a range of strategic benefit service providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participating partners included IMAS Financial Services and Standard Bank on Pension-Backed Housing Loans; ABSA on Vehicle Finance; 4D Health, Bestmed and Bonitas Medical Schemes on healthcare benefits; Old Mutual SuperFund on provident fund and risk benefits; Bluestar Employee Benefits on Group Life Benefits; Momentum Metropolitan Retirement Administrators (MMRA) on the National Tertiary Retirement Fund (NTRF); and Kaelo Health on employee wellness services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employees also received information on a range of institutional benefits and support services designed to enhance their overall employee experience and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hosted across VUT&#8217;s campuses, the roadshow reflects the University&#8217;s commitment to creating an informed and supported workforce by improving access to employee benefits, wellness programmes and financial planning resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through direct engagement with HR practitioners and benefit partners, employees were able to gain a clearer understanding of the support mechanisms available to them, contributing to enhanced wellbeing, financial security and employee experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many staff members, the roadshow provided valuable insight into the benefits available to support their financial wellbeing, healthcare needs and long-term security. It also highlighted the importance of understanding and actively utilising employee benefits to maximise their value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond raising awareness, the initiative reinforced Human Resources&#8217; role as a strategic, people-centred partner within the University.
