Professor Ezekiel Dixon Dikio from the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Applied and Computer Sciences attended a Nano Research Group conference at the University of Nigeria where he was a plenary speaker. This conference was in collaboration with the Oilserv Group of companies.
His presentation was based on the Metal Organic Framework (MOF) adsorption for which he received an award of excellence.
Prof Ezekiel said: “This award came as a shock to me, I didn’t expect it. I was just sitting there and it was the last day that the awards were being given. I didn’t expect to hear my name and I was called, I couldn’t even take a picture! I was so excited; this was a great opportunity and experience that I had on the day!”
He further said that Nano in VUT works with different metal materials which involves students doing research on joining metals and organic materials and producing materials that can be used to remove heavy metals in water.
