For Mr Shadrack Mehlwana Radebe, academic success did not arrive suddenly. It was built steadily, shaped by discipline, persistence, and a clear sense of purpose. On 23 April 2026, he was recognised as a top achiever in the Postgraduate Diploma in Management at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT), graduating cum laude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Petrus Steyn in the Free State, Mr Radebe has balanced his academic journey with professional responsibilities. He is currently employed at Sedibeng Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College in Vanderbijlpark while pursuing a master\u2019s degree at VUT, reflecting an ongoing commitment to both personal and professional growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He attributes his achievement to consistency and the willingness to persist through challenges. \u201cIt is about continuing to try until you get it right, no matter how long it takes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His environment also played a meaningful role in shaping his path. Surrounded by driven and focused individuals, he found motivation in the progress of others. \u201cThe people around me had a positive influence. Their progress motivated me to push myself and improve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Balancing work and study required focus and adaptability. Through careful time management and sustained effort, he maintained momentum in both areas. His journey reflects the reality of many students who must navigate professional and academic demands at the same time, where discipline becomes the foundation for success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also acknowledges the support he received from the University, particularly from lecturers who encouraged him to aim higher. \u201cThe support from lecturers was consistent, and they motivated us to strive for more. That environment played a significant role in my performance and decision to continue studying,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his journey, Mr Radebe drew on principles of personal growth, embracing a mindset that views setbacks as part of progress. This approach allowed him to remain focused, even when faced with pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now advancing towards his master\u2019s qualification, he continues to build on the foundation established during his postgraduate studies. His journey reflects a belief in continuous learning and the pursuit of excellence over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encouraging prospective students, he emphasised the importance of clarity and commitment. \u201cYou have to decide what you want to achieve and work towards it. Your efforts will determine the outcome,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
