For many Grade 12 learners at Suncrest High School, the journey to higher education became a reality on 23 June 2026 when the Student Recruitment and Registration Office from the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) visited the school to assist learners with the 2027 application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit formed part of VUT’s ongoing commitment to making higher education accessible and ensuring that prospective students are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to apply for university admission successfully. During the session, learners received hands-on assistance with their applications and were guided through the online application system. The team also demonstrated how the system works, enabling learners to assist their peers with future applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the learners, Ms Dimakatso Motaung, Student Recruitment Practitioner at VUT, emphasised the importance of applying early and understanding the application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Today’s visit aims to help you with your 2027 applications and ensure that you are well prepared for your journey into higher education,” said Motaung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also saw a number of learners receive VUT-branded T-shirts and caps in recognition of their participation and engagement during the programme. The gesture added excitement to the day and further strengthened the learners’ connection with the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing her appreciation for the opportunity, Ms Nhlawuleko Kubayi, a Grade 12 learner from Suncrest High School, said the visit had inspired learners to work towards their future goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I feel honoured and grateful to be presented with such an opportunity. It is truly a great start as we head towards our future. It all starts now. I hope to achieve my dreams in the near future, and VUT is acting as an amazing stepping stone,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit not only assisted learners with their applications but also motivated them to pursue their academic ambitions with confidence. By bringing university services directly to schools, VUT continues to play a meaningful role in empowering young people and opening doors to higher education opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
