Vaal University of Technology employees were handed Future Leadership Program certificates in a ceremony that took place at Wits Business School in Johannesburg, 27th of July 2018.
Future Leadership program is meant for “Junior managers in a management position for the first time; or individuals who need to consolidate their knowledge and skills, and build confidence as managers in preparation for future leadership roles”.
Professor Kuzvinetsa Dzvimbo: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research), gave the keynote address. In his address, he congratulated the graduands and commended them on the effort they have put in to strive for success. “Your role as a leader is to unpack the future and understand that future and make that future relevant today,” he said. He further advised the graduands to embrace conflict as being able to handle it is one of the major traits of a true leader.
Top students for the leadership course
As the graduation ceremony continued with a positive energy, Dr Zanele Ndaba presented the certificates, including the top student award which were received by; Shireen Henning, Marlyn Esterhuyse and Kwenzekile Khuzwayo. She also presented the award for the best syndicate group to the “Lion Guard”, of which the members were; Ms Busi Sithole, Mr Monale Tabane, Mr Michael Serapelo, Ms Kerileng Sharp, Ms Marlyn Esterhuyse and Ms Palesa Ubane.

Ms Esterhuyse gave an address on behalf of the graduates, outlining the challenges and conflicts they endured in their journey; she further congratulated her peers on their achievement.
