All things are difficult before they become are easy. Ms Itumeleng Katali, a young, humble and vision driven student who graduated with a Cum Laude in her National Diploma for Information Technology, has done it again when she added another further in her cap with Baccalaureus Technologiae in IT.
She said ‘’ I have always aspired to get such achievement, as it would have made me realize that hard work really pays off and actually give back to the queen that gave her life’’’. Little did she know that her wishes would come true as she was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s award at the Vaal University of Technology’s Faculty of Applied Sciences Autumn Graduations on Monday, 8 April. This award is awarded to students who have obtained the highest average in their Faculty for the National Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Baccalaureus Technologiae or Magister Technologiae.
‘’ I cannot lie and say this has been an easy road, but looking back from where I come from, I aspire to rewrite the history and to break the norms, one needs to be strategic about such things and always consult with those who have more wisdom and knowledge than you’’, said miss Katali. In conclusion she said that she is honoured to receive this award and very grateful for the support she got from her peers and lecturers as well as her mother who has always been there from day one. If you know the direction you want to base your life, then follow it and never move with the crowd.
