VUT Nurses

On Thursday, 12 May 2022, the Vaal University of Technology’s department of Health Sciences (Nursing section) celebrated International Nurses Day at the Sisonke Restaurant. The purpose of the celebration was to honour and give gratitude for the work done by nurses in servicing the community at large.

In attendance were nurses from the department of Health Sciences (Nursing section), Campus Clinic department and Centre for Health Education Development (CHED).

Amongst the nurses was Professor Christa Grobler, the Head of Department: Health Sciences, to support, uphold and celebrate with the nurses.

She gave a brief appreciation note and mentioned that this is a reminder of the pledge and decisions that the nurses made when they took this profession. She further alluded that this is a launch of the nurse’s day, celebrated yearly and the introduction of the Vaal nurse of the year award.

“We are here to service you, together as nurses.”
