The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) second year public relations students, Katlego Montsho, Teboho Matshatsha, Boipelo Ramashitsa, Ntando Ndleleni, Siphiwe Zwane and Martin Sibanda as part of their assignment they were working on visited Bonane a unity children’s home situated in Vanderbijlpark on the 17 October.
They were accompanied by representatives from the VUT Gold field’s library and VUT student life and living Department; Pakiso Vigo Tjotjo and Miehleketo Rihlamnfu. A donation of five computers, food parcels and meat was made to the orphanage.
“It’s one of those life changing experiences, to see the smiles on those Children`s faces and to realize the impact that we are making in our societies, small little steps, but deeper impact”, said the group members.
The students acknowledge the support they received from the VUT Public Relations, Marketing and Communications Department under the Leadership of the ever supportive Ms Kediemetsi Mokgotsi. They also highlighted that this couldn’t have been possible without the support of their Public Relations & Hospitality Department, Human Sciences Faculty. “To mention just a few of our leaders, Ms Sibongile Mokaeana, Ms Sibongile Kunene, Mr Felix, Mr Knowldege Manana, Dr Maleo, Mr Jon Jon, and my Mentors, Mrs Onica Matsheke from the Logistics department and Dr Chengendzai Mafini; Head of Department Logistics, and many others from this amazing academic institution”, they concluded.
