VUT resumes operations after staff protests

The Vaal University of Technology has resumed operations on Wednesday, 12 June 2019 after a staff protest that took five working days. The VUT Management together with both trade unions (NEHAWU and NTEU) reached an agreement of 7.5% to be paid retrospectively from 1 April 2019.
On matters of examinations, VUT Management together with the Student Representative Council (SRC) agreed to give new dates of examinations. Examinations will now commence on Friday, 14 June 2019 and will follow the same sequence from the exams which were postponed since Wednesday, 5 June 2019. The library also started its operations on 12 June 2019.
