Dr Teboho Pitso, a Senior Project Manager at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT)’s Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit recently published a book titled: “The Forgotten: Reconstructing and Reclaiming African Spirituality in the post-truth era”.
According to the author, the main contribution of the book is to restore the legacy of African genius in philosophy, Mathematics, Science and Engineering and to contribute in giving the world a civilization based on equitable and just frameworks. “It is therefore a huge decolonization project necessary in this day and age. It further contributes to Southern theorization and questions global North assumption that its knowledge is universal,” said Dr Pitso.
When asked about what this milestone means for him, Dr Pitso said: “Combined with my recent appointment as the quest editor of the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Robotics Technologies, this milestone contributes immensely on my ambition of becoming a world class academic and scholar.”
The book will be published in major bookstores and online platforms such as Amazon, at end of May 2023. Dr Pitso said he will also sell a limited number of copies mainly to his colleagues.
Most notably, the book was reviewed by the esteemed Professor Patrick Lumumba the former Director of Kenya Law School and its foreword is written by Professor Jacob Olupona from Harvard University.
