VUT honours excellence as over 900 graduates shine at Spring Graduation Week
15 September 2025 – Vanderbijlpark, South Africa:
The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) today opened its annual Spring Graduation Week, celebrating the achievements of more than 900 graduates. For many, it marks not only the culmination of years of study, but also the beginning of new journeys filled with possibility and purpose.
Ceremonies are being held in the Great Desmond Tutu Hall at the university’s main campus in Vanderbijlpark. Two sessions will take place each day at 10:00 and 14:00 from 15 to 17 September 2025.
Graduates from all four faculties will be recognised during the week:
- Faculty of Applied and Computer Science
- Faculty of Management Sciences
- Faculty of Engineering and Technology
- Faculty of Human Sciences
In addition, postgraduate Master’s and PhD graduates from various faculties will also be conferred.
Graduation at VUT is a deeply symbolic tradition. It honours the dedication of students, the commitment of academics, and the collective pursuit of excellence. It is a moment when years of effort are rewarded and futures are given momentum.
VUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Khehla Ndlovu, reminded graduates that Spring is both a celebration and a renewal. “Today we gather in the spirit of Spring, a season of renewal, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Class of 2025. This day is not only a recognition of your dedication and perseverance, but also a call to rise and play your part in shaping the future,” he said.
Professor Ndlovu also emphasised the transformative role of VUT graduates in society: “This season reminds us that every ending is also a new beginning. Like Spring itself, your journey is a renewal: of dreams, of purpose, of hope. The knowledge you have gained is not a finished story, but a seed. And seeds demand to be planted, nurtured, and allowed to bloom into something greater than themselves”
He concluded with a message of encouragement: “Graduates of Spring 2025, this is your season. Step forward with the energy of renewal, the pride of sixty years behind you, and the vision of a brighter tomorrow ahead. Congratulations. The world is ready for you.”
