Renowned athletics coach, Molosua Joseph Diale, started school at Kgomoco Combined School then proceeded to study at Lekoa Shandu Secondary School where he excelled in athletics, specialising in the 800m and 1500m cross country and road races. On 15 May 1982 he joined East Driefontein gold mine and participated at the highest levels against stars such as Mathews Loop, Val Motshwarateau, Stephen Morake, Ernest Tjela, Johan Fourie and Patrick “Springbok” Mabitsela who recruited Molosua.
Achievements:
- 1994-2001– Diale ran for one of the most feared clubs in South Africa, New Generations AC, which fed athletes into VUT.
- 1999 – He passed the Athletics South Africa (ASA) level 3 qualification to become a coach (middle and long distance national coaching), the highest qualification in South Africa.
- 2000 – Thabo Mapogoshe broke the 2000m Steeple Chase national record in Poland under his coaching.
- 2009 – Travelled with team SA representing the University Athletics team and ASA team to China, Germany, Korea, Japan, Mauritius, London, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
2009 – Gladwin Mzazi won the World Student Games 10 000m in 28:21.45 (personal best time) in Belgrade, Serbia, under his coaching.
2009 – Witness Hlalele and Sandile Zuma both came first and second during ASA Cross Country championships in Pretoria under his coaching;
- 2010 – The FISU Games (World University Games) University Sports South Africa (USSA) team won 29 medals in Uganda under his coaching when he was the head coach of team SA.
- 2010 – Sandile Zuma won the 15km representing SA at the Confederation of University and Colleges Sports Associations (CUCSA) Games in Botswana.
- 2009-2013 – Team VUT under coach Diale won the University Cross Country championships.
- 2010 European Circuit:
3000m 1st place in 8:19 (Belgium)
5000m 5th place in 14:14.37 (Belgrade) behind the Kenyans
10 000m 4th place in 28:49.30 (Iceland)
- 2013 – Xolisa Zamkele, Gladwin Mzazi and Stephen Mokoka brought home golds for team SA at the World Student Games in Russia. Xolisa is coached by coach Diale.
- 2013 – Coach Diale was appointed as USSA Development Officer in Welkom, a position he still holds today.
- 2013 – He was appointed as Athletics Head Coach and Development Officer of Legends of South Africa in Bloemfontein.
- 2013 – 2015: Coach Diale won Coach of the Year at the Sports Dinner Awards held at VUT.
- 2014 – The USSA Cross Country team came 7th at the World Student Games in Korea. Coach Diale was team coach for the middle and long distances.
- 2016 – Appointed as head coach for the USSA middle and long distance team at the CUCSA Games in Zimbabwe.
