Life can only keep getting better for Vaal University of Technology’s Dr Pierre Joubert who is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management, Commissioner of Oaths and Master HR Practitioner.
Dr Joubert was elected as the Chair of the Human Resources Universities Forum (HRUF) at its annual meeting which was held at Walter Sisulu University, on 11 August.
The forum was established in 2001 and consists of all universities in the country that offer Human Resource Management (HRM) and related qualifications. The purpose of the forum is to achieve a high standard of HRM academic programme delivery by means of institutional co-operation. This is achieved through the sharing of information, pooling of resources and ideas to promote continuous improvement, promoting articulation between institutions and aligning curricula of institutions to national and professional requirements.
This new role will be in addition to Dr Joubert’s responsibility for accreditation of HR programmes at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through his membership of the Higher Education Committee of the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) and his role as task team member of the SA Technology Network, responsible for the implementation of the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework (HEQSF) at all HEIs.
VUT will host the annual meeting of the HRUF in 2018 and the HR Department has already started planning to make this a huge and prestigious event.
