Following a statement issued by the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) in December 2019, of a new procedure of a cashless payment system and no Walk –ins. VUT has thus far experienced a smooth, swift and efficient registration process.
VUT received 20 989 early applications in 2019 and it is estimated that 5 404 students will be registered first time Undergraduate and Advance Diplomas students. A headcount of 1 648 students have been registered thus far.
Late applicants have been given an opportunity to apply through an online platform. 66 800 applications have been received thus far. Prospective students are advised to take note that their applications will be responded to between 20 and 24 January 2020. If they do not get a response, they should consider their application unsuccessful.
The University Senior Deputy Registrar: Strategic Enrolment Services; Dr Sally Dzingwa has indicated that a preliminary evaluation of the late applications received suggests that a significant number of applicants do not meet the minimum admission requirements. In addition, VUT will consider the DHET CACH (Central Clearing House) application data to fill available spaces. However, she also said that they are looking into taking the direction online application and registration in future.
The closing date for the late applications for advance diplomas is 20 January 2020.
