Congratulations are in order for the 2021 Winter graduates

It is that time of the year, where the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) recognises and celebrates the achievement of students who have shown dedication and enthusiasm during their varsity days. Those who have shown academic excellence are reaping what they have sowed to ensure success in their academics. VUT commenced with the process of issuing graduation certificates from Monday, 07 June 2021 and the last day was Friday, 18 June 2021 at the VUT Isak Steyl Stadium while the virtual graduation ceremony went live on the university’s social media platforms on the first day.

“We are especially proud of our graduates for demonstrating resilience, courage, and fortitude during their studies. During your studies, you will have faced some of the most difficult challenges you could have imagined. Late nights, last-minute check-ins before submitting assignments, and taking assess­ments. This was no easy walk. It was daunting and challenged you to the core of your being” said Prof Rensburg- VUT Administrator in his message to the graduates.

In addition to the message by Prof Rensburg, Professor Maggie Linington, DVC for Teaching, Learning, and Student Support Services: said “there’s no time like now, events like technological advances and COVID-19 creates opportunities for change… change does not come from circumstances, but from how human responses to those circumstances”. She further stated that “what we know is that the trajectory changes for addressing injustice will be determined by you the activist”.

In her closing remarks, she encouraged the graduates to remain activists, be indignant, keep their creativity and join the revolution that transforms the world.

VUT Congratulates graduates on their achievement, as this may be the foundation for many more opportunities to come.
