Recently, the Vaal University of Technology (VUT)’s Research Information and Marketing Officer, Mr Prajesh Bhikha was awarded the Research Administration Professional status by the International Professional Recognition Council (IPRC).
The IPRC is an autonomous body that awards professional recognition to research managers in Africa, in particular. This, considering that research managers significantly contribute to the research impact and high standards of governance in organisations that conduct or support research.
Elated about this accomplishment, Mr. Bhikha expressed that he is honoured and grateful for the recognition by the IPRC. “This recognition validates my dedication to development on a personal and professional level in the field of research. I would also like to acknowledge my mentors and team for their support throughout my career, “he expressed.
Looking ahead, Mr. Bhikha stated that in the future, he would like to grow within the research administration and management field and leverage this status. “I am grateful for the opportunities that VUT has afforded me to develop my research administration growth. I am inspired to continue striving for excellence and contributing to research management,” he said.
Offering advice to those aspiring to achieve in his footsteps, he emphasised the importance of continuous professional development, suggesting that individuals in research administration should collate all evidence of their achievements and growth. “Being part of the research community allows one to learn from fellow colleagues and universities, fostering a collaborative environment for growth and excellence in the field,” he said, adding, “It also provides invaluable opportunities to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions, ultimately enhancing the overall impact of research administration.”
VUT Congratulates Mr Bhikha on this achievement.
