Five VUT students gear up for international engineering collaboration in Russia

The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) is poised to leave its mark on the global stage as five students prepare to participate in the Winter University of Engineering Project 2024. Organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, this prestigious initiative will take place from 25 November to 9 December 2024 at Pskov State University and Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University.

Representing VUT at Pskov State University are Ms Olerato Moobi, a third-year diploma student in Chemical Engineering; Ms Mmathapelo Pitso, an Advanced Diploma student in Chemical Engineering; and Mr Simphiwe Mthethwa, a first-year diploma student in Civil Engineering. At Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University, Ms Bianca Mahlophe, a third-year diploma student in Chemical Engineering, and Mr Ndhlalifa Nyathi, a diploma student in Operations Management, will proudly represent their university.

In an era where global collaboration defines progress, programmes such as the Winter University of Engineering Project are invaluable for nurturing the next generation of engineers. This initiative is more than an academic exchange—it is a dynamic platform for training, professional development, and cultural integration among students from countries including South Africa, Serbia, and Belarus.
