Department of Accountancy ABOUT US

The Department of Accountancy operates in the Faculty of Management Sciences. It is situated at Vanderbjlpark.

The Department currently has three main focus areas, namely developing the disciplines of Internal Auditing, Financial Information Systems and Management Accounting. It aims to positively contribute towards South Africa’s economic and social development by producing innovative internal audit, financial information systems and management accounting graduates with competitive skills. The delivery of the programmes within the Department of Accountancy is characterised by a culture of professionalism, effectiveness and ethics.

The Department of accountancy is offering programmes that are HEQSF aligned and SAQA accredited. Because the quality of programmes and presentation is a key objective of the department it promotes interaction with industry, SETAs and professional bodies. The department is proud to be associated with the Southern African Institute of Government Auditors (SAIGA) , the Association of Accounting Technicians South Africa (AAT (SA)) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
