SLP Information and Disclaimer on VUT Short Learning Programmes (SLPs)

The Vaal University of Technology is an accredited Public Higher Education Provider established in terms of the Higher Education Act (Act 101/1997). The University offers formal academic programmes that are registered on its Programme Qualification Mix (PQM) of the University, as well as a range of Short Learning Programmes (SLPs).

The University is committed to offering over and above its formal academic programmes, just-in-time, non-formal training interventions to address various training gaps/skills gaps in different sectors of the South African economy. These SLPs support continuing education, lifelong learning, professional and personal development enabling individuals and organisations to enhance their knowledge and skills. SLPs offer flexible learning opportunities and may be customized to meet the specific need of industry or clients based on identified learning and development requirements.

SLP are offered in collaboration with University’s Faculties and relevant departments. All the University SLPs undergo a rigorous internal approval and quality assurance process to ensure they meet appropriate academic and quality standards in line with the Council on Higher Education (CHE) standards. It is important to note that SLPs do not lead to a formal academic qualification, and the accumulation of SLPs does not guarantee conferment of any formal academic qualification offered by VUT.

Short learning programmes may be presented on campus at VUT or at an agreed external venue, depending on the needs of the participating organisation.
