The handover of laptops took place on Wednesday, 27 October 2021.
Students expressed their appreciation for the donation of laptops over and above the bursary funding. They all looked surprised as they did not expect to receive such educational tools. Students felt that being approved for funding is a dream come true and receiving a laptop was a bonus and makes them feel like God’s favorite children. Most of the students mentioned that these laptops will assist them to complete and submit their assignments on time.
One of the recipients: Nancy Matsemela expressed her appreciation and said that she is very grateful to everyone who participated in the process of facilitating the funding opportunity. “2021 has been a very tough year as I had to cancel my residence and go back home because I did not have any financial support. But when I received confirmation that I have been approved to receive IBM bursary, I got so excited that I cried, I immediately registered for accommodation at residences knowing that all costs will be covered. With all the stress I endured that came with not having funding, I am proud to say I am beyond motivated with the IBM bursary as it also includes laptops. Thank you so much for the financial support”, said Nancy.
