Upington Campus
Upington Campus
The Upington Campus of the VUT was established in 1995 in order to provide quality tertiary education that is affordable and accessible to the rural communities of the Northern Cape Province. As sole provider of higher education within a 400 km radius in a scarcely populated province, the Upington Campus has a huge impact on the higher educational needs of the communities of Upington and neighbouring towns such as Keimoes, Kakamas, Kenhardt, Olifantshoek, Groblershoop, Prieska as well as other regions such as Namakwaland, Pixley ka Seme (De Aar-Prieska area), JTG (Kuruman area) and even as far as Namibia.
Situated within a predominantly agricultural area, with communities making agriculture their daily lives, it became obvious that one of our niche areas would be programmes in the agricultural fields, hence the National Diploma in Agricultural Management is playing such a huge role in our product mix. The courses currently offered are National Diplomas in Agricultural Management, Tourism Management, Internal Auditing, Marketing Management, Retail Business Management, Human Resources Management and Cost & Management Accounting.
Although the Upington Campus is small, we get to know one another very easily and we can treat you as a person (not a number). Here, we want you to participate, co-operate, enjoy and be part of the VUT family and we promise you all our support in achieving the qualification that you have enrolled for.
Yours in Higher Education!
