Following his listening session which was held on 2 August at the Vanderbijlpark Campus, Vaal University of Technology’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Gordon Zide visited our sites of delivery on 8 August. The much anticipated visit forms part of the VC’s plan to engage and encourage active participation with all VUT stakeholders across all sites of delivery.
Attendees of the VC’s address: Staff and students from the sites of delivery
His first stop was at the VUT site of delivery in Secunda for an early morning talk, and then an afternoon talk ending off at the VUT Ekurhuleni Campus. Prof Zide shared his strategic vision and direction for the university in the next few years of him holding office. Talking in front of a packed hall in Secunda, Prof Zide explained, in his speech, which can be found here, that he intends to serve all of VUT with dedication and distinction. He aims to involve and engage all staff and students – he talked of new structural and organisational development. A positive wave of change is imminent under his leadership. Mr Vido Kungune, Acting Campus Principal for Ekurhuleni expressed his enthusiasm, and said he is looking forward to all the new developments set to take place at the university.
