A karate tournament was held on 2 June 2018 at Redhill Preparatory School – Morningside in Fourways. The 21 strong VUT (Vaal university of Technology) team competed in kata (combat against imaginary opponents where the practitioner is judged on technique and inner strength) and kumite (combat against a real opponent). As is always the case in these tournaments, the team won several medals.
