The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) is set to host its annual Open Day on Saturday, 12 May 2018 at the VUT Vanderbijlpark main campus from 9:00 am till 14:00 pm.
The event, which aims to educate prospective students on career choices and the University’s offerings, expects Grade 11 and 12 learners from across the country to attend under the guidance of parents and teachers.
Through many radio interviews on VUT FM and Lesedi FM the VUT recruitment team has worked tirelessly to spread awareness and reach out to prospective students. Invitations have also been sent using different mediums such as advertising (newspapers and radio broadcasting), career exhibitions and rapid school visits to reach the targeted audience.
Prospective students will be given the opportunity to learn more about the programmes offered at VUT and the various technological facilities available through a presentation that will be conducted by the Acting Head of Department (HOD) – Recruitment, Mr Philip Masike.
This event will also grant prospective students the opportunity to visit various departmental stalls exhibiting, with VUT staff that will be ready to assist students to choose their desired career paths, provide detailed information and clarity needed relating to courses or rather prospective fields of study. Industry representatives are also expected to exhibit.
