VUT spices things up with a CAMPUS TV broadcast

The sky’s the limit with content that excites, and geared towards students in the fields of entertainment, documentary, lifestyle, sport, and politics, among other subjects.
#Vutcampustv is a pilot initiative run by the Tourism and Integrated Communication Department with the goal of assisting students in completing their Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. For the time being, it is solely centered on Instagram, taking advantage of the Instagram TV (IGTV) podcasting feature as well as the ability to go live with content.
As part of his work description, Mr Manana, WIL Coordinator in Public Relations Management, has a mandate to look for prospects and alternate solutions to problems that students experience when it comes to Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement, and what way than a #VUTCAMPUSTV Broadcast.
In addition to the Work Based Learning (WBL), WIL modality, the Public Relations Management program has decided to include a Project Based Learning (PBL) modality, which will allow students to complete their WIL in the department as a project with particular and tangible industry-like practice. Furthermore, students that are put in this project, gain management and leadership skills as they take the lead in several project divisions.
Film and production team
The team wishes to expand the project, looking into the idea of establishing a permanent and licensed VUT community television channel.
Whilst that is in the pipeline, episodes will be accessible on IGTV. Various members of the VUT community can get updates by following the handle @vutcampustv. A variety of series’ content has been shot, they just require viewership and your engagement. “The editing department is hard at work on their first full production. Looking at the students’ debut video creation, I can only conclude that the future looks bright and exciting.” Mr Manana says.
