Professor Kholeka Moloi, attached to the Department of Education: Faculty of Human Sciences was selected as a finalist in the 2013 Women in Science Awards which were held on Friday, 16 August 2013, at the Hilton Hotel, Johannesburg.
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) hosts the South African Women in Science Awards (WISA) annually to recognise and reward the achievements of South African women scientists and researchers. Professor Moloi was the finalist in the category: Distinguished Women: Social Sciences. The category recognises the women scientists and researchers who have made an outstanding contribution to advancing science and building the knowledge base in their respective disciplines. The Vaal University of Technology community congratulates Prof Kholeka Moloi for the outstanding achievement. She emerged as an overall winner and received an award in the category: Distinguished Women: Social Sciences.
